How to Correct Artwork and Resubmit for Approval
What should I do when my artwork needs corrections?
If your artwork requires corrections, make the requested adjustments on your side and send the final approved version. Direct modifications to customer artwork files are not provided, and production continues only after the revised file is approved.
What types of artwork issues can be flagged?
The artwork may need revision if it includes:
- A distorted or rasterised dieline
- The wrong die-cut template
- RGB colour space instead of CMYK
- Black not defined as 60/60/60/100 in CMYK
- Raster images with low resolution
- Fonts that are not converted to outlines
- Missing bleeds
- Design elements placed across box corners
- Lines placed directly on crease lines
- High ink coverage on eco box packaging
How should the artwork be corrected?
- Use the correct dieline provided in PDF and Adobe Illustrator (.ai) formats.
- Do not scale or modify the dieline.
- Convert the artwork from RGB to CMYK.
- Set black to 60/60/60/100 in CMYK.
- Provide all artwork elements in vector format.
- Convert all fonts to outlines.
- Ensure raster images are prepared for print with a minimum recommended resolution of 300 dpi.
- Add bleed where required so the artwork extends 5 mm beyond the cut or crease lines.
- Avoid placing important design elements across box corners if they need to align after assembly.
- Avoid placing lines directly on crease lines.
- For eco box packaging, reduce the ink coverage or choose a material that allows full ink coverage.
What happens after the revised file is sent?
Once the corrected artwork is submitted and reviewed, production can continue if the design is approved. If the revised file is confirmed to be in order, production is ready to restart.
